We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Bacteriologist with expertise in cell culture and bacteria handling to join our dynamic research team. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cell culture maintenance, including cell line propagation, subculturing, and cryopreservation, ensuring cell viability and purity.
- Design and execute experiments involving cell-based assays, including proliferation assays, apoptosis assays, and functional assays, to support research objectives.
- Develop and optimize cell culture protocols and techniques to improve experimental efficiency and reproducibility.
- Maintain bacterial cultures, including both gram-positive and gram-negative strains, and perform microbiological assays such as colony counting, antibiotic susceptibility testing, and plasmid purification.
- Conduct molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and cloning, to support experimental workflows.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for internal meetings and external conferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement research projects, troubleshoot experimental issues, and contribute to scientific discussions.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, biosafety guidelines, and regulatory requirements for handling biological materials.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and coordinate maintenance and calibration activities as needed.
- Stay current with scientific literature, methodologies, and technological advancements relevant to cell culture, microbiology, and molecular biology fields.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in cell culture techniques and bacterial cultivation in a research laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques, sterile cell culture practices, and maintenance of primary cell lines and immortalized cell lines.
- Strong understanding of microbiological principles, bacterial physiology, and cultivation methods, including culture media preparation and sterilization techniques.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and cloning.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot experimental procedures and interpret data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced research environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols, biosafety level requirements, and regulatory guidelines for handling biological materials.
- Enthusiasm for scientific research, curiosity-driven mindset, and willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies and technologies.
