Laboratory Technician

Full time role in our Boston Lab

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our research and development team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for supporting laboratory activities, particularly those involving Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) work and operating vacuum chambers. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment while contributing to our scientific research and experimentation.

Role:

• Perform laboratory tasks in accordance with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) protocols, including handling and disposing of biological materials safely.
• Operate and maintain vacuum chambers for various experiments and processes.
• Prepare samples for analysis, experimentation, or testing, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment, including vacuum chambers, to ensure proper functioning.
• Accurately record and document experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe laboratory environment.
• Assist in managing laboratory inventory, including chemicals, reagents, and consumables, by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with research scientists and fellow laboratory personnel to support ongoing projects and experiments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or an associate degree with equivalent laboratory experience.
• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, especially with BSL2 protocols and vacuum chambers.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and adherence to safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ability to work independently and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
