Our client seeking an experienced Cost Accountant In Virginia Beach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS) accounting. They should be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain accurate inventory records
Monitor inventory levels and reconcile physical inventory counts with system records
Review and analyze inventory transactions and variances
Calculate and record inventory valuation adjustments
Prepare and analyze COGS reports and make recommendations for cost savings
Analyze production costs and variances
Review and approve purchase orders and invoices related to inventory
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory management or related field
Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
