Cost Accountant in Nashville

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory accounting and cost analysis in a manufacturing environment. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely cost data, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Responsibilities:

Perform monthly inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) reconciliations

Analyze and report on cost variances between actual and standard costs

Prepare and analyze inventory valuation reports using LIFO and/or FIFO methods

Develop and maintain standard cost systems for products and manufacturing processes

Work closely with the production team to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and related reports using Excel and/or Hyperion

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a cost accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and methods, including LIFO and/or FIFO
• Experience with Excel and/or Hyperion for financial reporting and analysis
