Our client is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining documentation such as schematics, circuit board layouts, and bill of materials (BOM). You will utilize your expertise in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to design and develop electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Design: Design and develop electrical systems, components, and circuitry for various projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective electrical designs.
  2. Schematic Design: Create and maintain accurate and detailed schematics using EDA tools. Ensure proper documentation of circuit diagrams, signal flow, and component placement.
  3. Circuit Board Layout: Utilize EDA tools to design and optimize circuit board layouts. Consider factors such as signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, and manufacturability. Collaborate with PCB layout designers for the implementation of designs.
  4. Component Selection and Bill of Materials (BOM): Identify and select appropriate electrical components based on project specifications and requirements. Create and maintain comprehensive BOMs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines and cost considerations.
  5. Testing and Validation: Collaborate with the testing and validation team to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of electrical designs. Conduct tests, analyze results, and implement design modifications as necessary.
  6. Documentation and Technical Reports: Prepare and maintain design documentation, including design specifications, design verification reports, and design review documents. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure effective integration and functionality of electrical designs. Communicate design concepts, progress, and challenges to stakeholders.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical design technologies, tools, and methodologies. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced design efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in the development of electronic products.
  • Strong proficiency in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of electrical design principles, circuit analysis, and PCB layout techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical design and safety.
  • Experience in component selection and BOM management.
