Senior Microbiologist

We are seeking a Senior Microbiologist to join our team and lead our microbiology department. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising teams of up to 5 members, expertise in EHS and IRB rules and regulations, and training team members on microbiological techniques at BSL2 level.

Role:

• Supervise and manage a team of microbiologists, providing guidance and direction to ensure the team meets project timelines and goals.
• Develop and implement microbiological protocols and procedures in accordance with EHS and IRB rules and regulations.
• Train team members on microbiological techniques, including aseptic technique, cell culture, and molecular biology.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the microbiology laboratory, ensuring that equipment is calibrated and maintained properly.
• Perform microbiological experiments and analysis to support ongoing projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support R&D, manufacturing, and quality control activities.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate research findings.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a microbiology research or development environment, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Expertise in EHS and IRB rules and regulations.
• Experience in training team members on microbiological techniques at BSL2 level.
• Strong background in microbiological techniques such as aseptic technique, cell culture, and molecular biology.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions.
