Financial Reporting of Income Taxes
Responsible for the review of the monthly and annual U.S. income tax provisions
Identify and recommend standardized policies and procedures to centralize and support the timely and accurate financial reporting of income taxes
Monitor and assess tax risks in the US, including the review of uncertain tax positions to ensure in line with IAS 12 accounting standards.
Tax Compliance
Responsible for the review of the calculation of all tax installments
Leverage the annual budget process and financial forecasts to ensure cash payments are minimized, and ensure any applicable refunds are collected as quickly as possible.
Responsible for the preparation and review of all U.S. income and franchise tax returns
Responsible for the monitoring of all annual report filings
Review tax fixed asset calculations (familiarity with Sage preferred)
Identify and recommend standardized policies and procedures to centralize and support the efficient, timely and accurate preparation of all filings
Review Annual returns for foreign affiliate
Assemble transfer pricing documentation including working with other members of Tax Department regarding the new documentation requirements pursuant to BEPS initiative
Tax Controversy
Effectively manage all tax audits, and respond to all tax notices and related correspondence.
Tax planning/Special projects
Identify opportunities to minimize cash taxes, lower effective tax rate, and create value for key stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Master’s Degree in Taxation or other similar advance degree preferred
Professional Designation, Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) required
At least 7 years combined experience with Audit function of a public accounting firm and Tax function of a public accounting firm
Corporate tax function of a multinational public company
Strong tax technical skills and thorough understanding of domestic income tax legislation
Knowledge of Research and Development Tax Credit.
Ability to research tax matters, communicate results and recommend a solution.
Working knowledge of international tax, including repatriation of earnings and structuring of in-bound investments would be beneficial
Knowledge of state and local tax, including incentives for doing business in specific states, counties and cities.
Solid understanding and hands on experience with tax return preparation software (OneSource)
Hands on experience with non-income tax matters (ex. sales and use and personal property tax)
Good understanding and experience with internal controls
Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
Thorough understanding of the financial statement audit function and financial reporting related to income taxes.
Experience working with different departments (ex. treasury, accounting, legal) within an organization on tax matters.
Proficiency with OneSource tax software
Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products
Knowledge of HFM and its capabilities a plus
