Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join their team. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for working on a range of structural analysis solutions and load types, including static, nonlinear, thermal distortion, modal, and structural dynamics (vibration & shock).
The Structural Analysis Engineer expertise in MATLAB, Python, and ANSYS will be essential in conducting advanced analysis, optimizing designs, and ensuring the structural integrity and performance of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and simulations using various methods, including static, nonlinear, thermal distortion, modal, and structural dynamics (vibration & shock).
- Analyze and interpret results to validate design performance, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to provide engineering input and optimize designs for strength, stiffness, and weight.
- Utilize MATLAB and Python to develop custom analysis tools, scripts, and automation processes.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS to assess structural behavior and response.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices in structural analysis.
- The Structural Analysis Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support design reviews, prototype testing, and product certification processes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Document analysis methods, assumptions, and results in detailed reports and presentations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and emerging trends in structural analysis and simulation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Structural Analysis Engineer, specializing in static, nonlinear, thermal distortion, modal, and structural dynamics analysis.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and Python for analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of ANSYS for finite element analysis (FEA) and structural simulations.
- Solid understanding of structural analysis principles, including strength of materials, mechanics, and structural dynamics.
- Experience with commercial CAD software, such as Solidworks, CATIA, or Creo.
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or defense industries.
- Familiarity with other structural analysis software, such as Abaqus or Nastran.
- Knowledge of composite materials and analysis techniques.
- Experience with fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis.
- Strong publication record or participation in relevant conferences or industry forums.
