Senior Engineer, Process Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join our Process Development team in San Francisco. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and optimization of nucleic acid production processes at the pilot scale. The successful candidate will bring expertise in process engineering, scale-up, and quality control to ensure the efficient and high-quality production of nucleic acids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Development: Lead the development and optimization of nucleic acid production processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Scale-Up: Translate laboratory-scale processes to pilot-scale production, ensuring that processes are robust and meet quality standards.
- Equipment and Technology: Select, validate, and maintain equipment and technology required for nucleic acid production, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Quality Control: Establish and implement quality control protocols to monitor and maintain product quality and purity throughout the production process.
- Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to enhance process performance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including research, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive successful nucleic acid production.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, processes, and results in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
- Experience in process development, particularly in nucleic acid production or bioprocessing.
- Strong knowledge of scale-up principles and process optimization.
- Proficiency in using process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL).
- Experience with quality control methodologies and analytical techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
