Senior Systems Engineer

Flex week in Des Moines, IA – or Remote/Work from home

Our company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in infrastructure technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux, Palo Alto Firewall, VMWare, Citrix, HP 3Par, and Kaminario K2 SAN. The ideal candidate will work from home and be responsible for managing and maintaining our company’s infrastructure, as well as implementing new technologies to improve system performance and reliability.

Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, implement, and maintain infrastructure technologies including Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux, Palo Alto Firewall, VMWare, Citrix, HP 3Par, and Kaminario K2 SAN. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues to ensure high system availability and reliability. • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize system downtime in the event of a disaster. • Manage virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Citrix to ensure optimal performance and scalability. • Monitor system performance and capacity to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users. • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new infrastructure technologies to meet business needs. • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure standardization and consistency. • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure technologies with other systems and applications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in managing and maintaining infrastructure technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux, Palo Alto Firewall, VMWare, Citrix, HP 3Par, and Kaminario K2 SAN. • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Citrix. • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
