We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Process Manager to join our team. As a Laboratory Process Manager, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and ensuring the prompt and accurate testing of laboratory analyses. You will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, making recommendations for process improvements, and managing preventative maintenance schedules for laboratory instrumentation.
- Laboratory Operations Coordination: Manage and coordinate laboratory operations to ensure the efficient and timely testing of samples. Monitor and prioritize testing requests, allocate resources, and communicate with internal stakeholders to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control procedures and protocols. Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation to reflect best practices.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the laboratory operations. Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and propose and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time. Continuously monitor and evaluate processes, making recommendations for improvement based on data analysis and industry best practices.
- Instrumentation Maintenance: Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Coordinate with vendors for calibration, repairs, and maintenance services. Ensure proper documentation and logging of maintenance activities.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with laboratory personnel, supervisors, and other relevant departments to streamline communication, resolve issues, and promote a cohesive and collaborative work environment. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on laboratory processes, equipment operation, and quality control procedures. Ensure the team’s competency in following established protocols and adhering to safety regulations.
- Data Management: Oversee data management and reporting activities. Ensure accurate and timely recording of test results, maintenance records, and other laboratory documentation. Generate reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to laboratory operations. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and participate in internal and external audits.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.).
- Proven experience in laboratory operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, instrumentation, and quality control protocols.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 17025) and experience with audits is preferred.
