SEC Reporting Manager

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SEC Reporting Manager to join our finance team. As the SEC Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and filing of our company’s financial statements and reports in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of financial reporting standards, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC requirements.
SEC Filings: Prepare and review the company’s quarterly and annual reports (10-Qs and 10-K) and other SEC filings, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and deadlines. Collaborate with legal and finance teams to gather necessary information and support.
XBRL Tagging: Manage the XBRL tagging process for financial statements and ensure compliance with SEC XBRL requirements. Stay up-to-date with changes in XBRL taxonomy and reporting standards.
Technical Research: Monitor and interpret changes in accounting and reporting regulations, including SEC rules and regulations, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) pronouncements, and other relevant updates. Assess the impact of these changes on financial reporting and provide guidance
Internal Controls: Design and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. Assist with internal and external audits related to financial reporting.
Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and variance explanations to support the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and disclosures. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure consistency and alignment with underlying financial data.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial reporting processes, controls, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness. Implement automation and technology solutions to streamline reporting processes.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of financial reporting professionals. Provide guidance, support, and training to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA qualification required.
  • Extensive experience in SEC reporting and compliance, preferably in a public company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
    Solid knowledge of XBRL tagging requirements.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements related to financial reporting.
