Manager, Software Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Software Engineering to join our team and manage Agile software development team(s) to deliver quality software. In this role, you will collaborate with business analysts, scrum masters, QA staff/managers, and digital product managers in the specification of the development roadmap.

The ideal candidate should have experience in development of cloud-native microservices that follow 12 factor app guidelines, microfrontend apps using Angular or React, building messaging and event-driven architectures, test-driven development with exposure to testing tools Junit, Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, and Selenium, serverless functions AWS Lambda or Azure Functions, containerized applications with at least one or more of these technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift), best practices in DevSecOps, GitOps, CI/CD, at least one of these cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), SQL and NoSQL databases, and Business Rules Management Systems IBM ILOG or Operation Decision Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Agile software development team(s) to deliver quality software
• Collaborate with business analysts, scrum masters, QA staff/managers, and digital product managers in the specification of the development roadmap
• Develop cloud-native microservices that follow 12 factor app guidelines
• Develop microfrontend apps using Angular or React
• Build messaging and event-driven architectures
• Utilize test-driven development with exposure to testing tools Junit, Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, and Selenium
• Develop serverless functions using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
• Develop containerized applications with at least one or more of these technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
• Implement best practices in DevSecOps, GitOps, CI/CD
• Work with at least one of these cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases
• Develop Business Rules Management Systems using IBM ILOG or Operation Decision Manager
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of new team members
• Manage software development projects, including creating and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and reporting to upper management
• Collaborate with other managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
• Continuously improve software development processes and practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years of experience managing Agile software development teams
• Experience developing cloud-native microservices that follow 12 factor app guidelines
• Experience developing microfrontend apps using Angular or React
• Experience building messaging and event-driven architectures
• Experience with test-driven development and testing tools Junit, Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, and Selenium
• Experience with serverless functions AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
• Experience developing containerized applications with at least one or more of these technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
• Familiarity with best practices in DevSecOps, GitOps, CI/CD
• Experience with at least one of these cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience developing Business Rules Management Systems using IBM ILOG or Operation Decision Manager
• T-shaped skillset
